Terms of use
The terms governing use of the Professional Teeline website, its content, learning materials and online resources.
Last updated: 30 July 2026
These terms apply when you use teeline.co.uk. By using the site, you agree to use it in accordance with these terms. The site is operated by Protheorem Ltd, company number 12812092, trading through the Professional Teeline brand.
Using the site
You may use the site and its free resources for your own lawful, personal learning and practice. You must not misuse the site, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with its operation, introduce malicious code or use it to distribute harmful or unlawful material.
Our material
Unless stated otherwise, the site’s text, design, exercises, original Teeline outlines, recordings, images, downloads and other original material belong to Protheorem Ltd or are used with permission. You may view them online and may print or save material where the site expressly allows this, solely for your own study and practice.
You may not, without prior written permission:
- republish, sell, sublicense or commercially exploit our material;
- upload or distribute copies through another website, platform, course, group or file-sharing service;
- systematically extract, scrape or reproduce our material in bulk;
- remove copyright, credit or ownership notices;
- use our material to train, fine-tune, test or develop an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system; or
- use it to create a competing or substantially similar learning resource.
Ordinary links to public pages on the site are welcome. These terms do not claim ownership of the Teeline shorthand system itself or prevent you from using Teeline in your own writing.
Free tools and online resources
Timers, daily challenges, reading exercises, dictations and other online tools are provided for learning and practice. Device performance, browser restrictions, audio permissions, internet connections and interruptions may affect how they work.
These resources are not formal examination systems. Their results do not certify a learner’s speed or accuracy, award a qualification or guarantee success in an examination.
Independent status and learning information
Professional Teeline is an independent learning and publishing project operated by Protheorem Ltd. It is not the NCTJ, is not an official NCTJ website and does not claim endorsement by the NCTJ.
The site provides Teeline teaching, explanation and practice material. Learners may encounter legitimate outline variations depending on context, teaching tradition and the principles already learned. Level-specific material should be used alongside the stated course or book sequence.
Accuracy and availability
We take reasonable care over Professional Teeline material and aim to correct confirmed errors. The site may nevertheless contain occasional mistakes or become unavailable while it is maintained or updated. We do not promise uninterrupted access or that every resource will remain available indefinitely.
A website timer should not be used as the sole timing method for a formal assessment.
External services and links
The site may link to Amazon, YouTube, Spotify and other external websites or services. Their content, availability, accounts and transactions are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for an external service merely because the site links to it.
Purchases, cancellations and refunds
teeline.co.uk does not currently take direct payment or sell courses, memberships, physical goods or digital content through its own checkout.
When you follow a link from this site and buy through Amazon, your order, payment, delivery, cancellation and return are handled under the terms shown by Amazon and the relevant seller. Please use the order-support route in your Amazon account for a purchase made there.
Before Professional Teeline begins selling directly, separate or expanded terms will explain the relevant price, delivery or access arrangements, cancellation rights, refund process and any lawful exceptions before an order is placed.
Liability and statutory rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to those protections, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for business losses arising from personal use of the site, or for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the site, our services or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated. Any revised terms apply from the time they are published on the site.
Governing law
These terms are governed by English law. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer elsewhere in the UK.
